Program Requirements

  1. Students learn multiple theoretical frameworks in the sub-fields of Political Science and gain the ability to make comparison with other fields, such as law, economics, history and sociology.
     
  2. Students gain a general social science perspective that can provide a comprehensive view and understanding in all Political units of analysis; sub-, inter, intra, and cross national.
     
  3. Students gain a general social science perspective that can provide them a comparative perspective and understanding to determine the similarities and differences across societies, political systems.
     
  4. Students learn to pursue their researches, projects, and thesis with individual responsibility or in group.
     
  5. They learn how to apply the theoretical knowledge to cases and how to focus on problems via both quantitative and qualitative methods.
     
  6. Students are directed to get responsibility through home works and expected to develop independent projects.
     
  7. Students learn to determine their personal and professional learning needs and direct their learning process within the dynamic nature of national and international world.
     
  8. Students learn to determine their personal and professional learning needs with an analytical and critical perspective and direct their learning process within the dynamic nature of national and international world.
     
  9. Students can inform people and institutions, transfer ideas and solution proposals to problems in written and orally on issues in the field both in Turkish and English (and a regional language).
     
  10. Students can follow the dynamics of the international and global world, and also acquire the abilities to read, write and speak about them in English.
     
  11. Students are provided with the qualifications to pursue a career in public or private sectors or to have an academic career.
     
  12. Students can develop the sense of empathy and appreciation for societies other than the one they belong to.
     
  13. Students can use informatics and communication technologies actively with at least a minimum level of software knowledge.
     
  14. Students can transfer ideas and solution proposals to international and domestic problems with international academicians and students.
     
  15. Students learn to act in accordance with social, scientific, cultural and ethical values on the stages of gathering, implementation and release of the results of data related to the field.
     
  16. Students are directed to possess sufficient consciousness about the issues of universality of social rights, social justice, quality, cultural values and also, environmental protection, worker's health and security.
     
  17. Students are directed to inherit the appreciations for scientific inquiry that is the crucial element for attainment of socio-political human rights and social justice and for global competition.
